Prime Interest Hits The Wire for another Open Trot Victory

Another Friday night, another open trot win for Prime Interest at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway on Friday night.  The classy trotter has a few weeks left to try and repeat as Horse of the Year at the Spa and is putting in a great late surge in pursuit of the track’s top honors once again this season. The Colin Johnson trainee had a daunting task ahead of him on Friday as the two favorites Grain Of Truth (Ray Schnittker) and Pablo Angus (Dan Cappello Jr) drew inside of him and lined up in front of him on the chilly fall night in Saratoga. Prime Interest followed the move of Pablo Angus at three quarters and surged by his rivals in the stretch to secure his tenth open trot win of the season. Frank Coppola Jr was again in the sulky for owner Vince Laurenzo of Clifton Park, NY. While Pablo Angus has had another terrific year at the Spa, Prime Interest is putting in a real challenge to that one for the track’s top honors which will be handed out in December, at the conclusion of the tracks’ 69th racing season.

Live harness racing continues at the Spa on Saturday night with a first post of 7:20pm.
